6%???

I knew that they were going to do it, but I just realized that GST is now 6% I feel really old since I remember days when Pluto was a planet, GST was 7%, you had 13 years of education before university

I got together with a friend from highschool, one of the people who has known me the longest & it surprised me how well she knew me based on something I said or did, or the way I said it, or on some kind of body language

The Toronto Raptors released new jersey's today, they are red & white, because they want to emphasize on the fact that they are Canada's Team, I know we're all excited about basketball season coming up!!!

I'm studying for some bloody exams (a little upset that i'm missing a conference because of it)

CSR

I am working on this assignment & asking the question if CSR is simply an advertising strategy & in doing so I am watching "The Corporation" again.

I find it interesting how a corporation can make more profit in one year than some countries GDP. Theoretically this could mean that a corporation can buy a country, or a bunch of countries.

Think about that for a second, having that much money, having the same legal power as a person, & if a corporation was ever allowed to, & they made that country their headquarters or a vacation spot for it's employees, would it really be the worse then what the current government is doing in some countries?

Also interesting is that most of the companies on the top are in the US, the US has a GDP which is very close to the EU, & the industries which made the most profit recently include: energy (oil & gas), banking, insurance, biotech, telecomm. Canada's top company (in terms of profit) Royal Bank

(side note: yes I did think about if the companies in the movie or in my other research are partners of AIESEC)

9/11

I was going to make a post about how even 5 years later it is hard to believe that the events of 9/11 happened, & what I remember doing when it happened, & why it matters to me, but then I read the following: http://www.slate.com/id/2149368/?GT1=8592

People will always remain people & it is their right to think, do, & feel however they want or don't want to.

Basketball Hall of Fame!

Recently they inducted some new people into the Basketball Hall of Fame, just another of the many things I had to read about afte.

It added another place for me to see in my lifetime, Springfield, MA

Some extra reasons to love basketball: Invented by Canadian Dr. James Naismith. First NBA game played on Nov. 1, 1946, with the Toronto Huskies hosting the New York Knickerbockers at Maple Leaf Gardens!
