Luggage...CHECK!

So, I have most of the essentials ready, I think i'm bringing the following bags, 1 with clothes, 1 for whatever else (plus lots of room to bring stuff bag) & 1 to carry on (which will have any expensive things I bring & some clothes/toiletries in case my luggage gets lost), i'm trying to cut it own to 1 big bag & the carry on but i'll see what happens, i'm glad I have the essential stuff done, now I can go over anything else I may need & get it the next couple of days

I pick my visa up this Monday & then apply for the Indian visa. Tuesday May 9 will be pretty crazy with coming back from the conference, making sure everything is in order, getting the pizza, & heading to the airport by 2:30pm, i'm still trying to convince someone at home to drive me to & from the conference (it's an hour away from where I live) but I may have to take the bus (which will take about 3 hours!)

I'm now making plans for the rest of the week, it was SUCH a Bollywood scene when I was packing, I was act as if my parents were kicking me out! I'm actually more excited about the CEED right now than I am about the conference!

DONE!

And i'm DONE! (sorry for my friends who are not finished yet)

I am quite happy considering I finished my last exam & second last year of undergraduate studies

I am getting down to work like right away, prep for the conference & the CEED!!!

But i'll write about that in the other blog.

In other news, I almost got attacked by a goose today!!! I saw it, just standing there, doing it's own thing, I walk past it MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS, it starts coming towards me & quacking, so I RAN!

Speaking of Iran (like how I did that?) the situation is getting really bad, how do you defy the UN??!! I recently saw the Interpreter & was thinking about how amazing it would be to be at a GA, with all those countries around you.

I'll either be blogging more now that i'm done or be running around like crazy the next 5 days!

So, on your way back from NLDC 2006, pick up a pizza or 2!

Phone service cancelled

So, another step towards leaving, I will now not be available via cell phone after May 9th, 2006 (until I get a new cell phone/plan in India or Pakistan)

They tried to charge me for providing me the service of keeping my account on hold (so I can keep my cell number) but I wouldn't let them

It's not like anyone calls or text messages or would have when i'm away, but yeah just something I got done which is making me feel like I am actually leaving!

NOT FUNNY!!!

There was this commercial on that had a picture similar to the one below, my sister was laughing SO much:

About a week left

If I don't see you this weekend or early next week (& you aren't at the conference) then i'll hopefully see you in August

I have 1 last exam (this Friday), there's some AIESEC work i'd like to finish before leaving, i'll have to pack before the conference since I fly the day I get back

I'm thinking about the people & things i'll miss while I am away

I'm sure i'll be excited about the conference again once I go over more prep for it

I'll also be excited about the CEED again once I go over more things for that

This comes to mind:

This is also my 100th post, told you guys I talk too much...

Long time no post, Long post!

Things are really fast paced right now but i'm at a point where there's "the calm before the storm"

I finished 4 exams in 4 days, most of them went well, i'm not too happy with todays exam, but generally speaking most people found it to be a tough exam

Friday is my next exam so i'm doing some AIESEC work/CEED prep so i'll give me less to do after Friday.

I went for an interview for the visa last week, it was such a formality but done because the Indian consulate gives as much trouble to a Pakistani person trying to go to India (here's an idea, just don't give any trouble to each other!) I should have that visa this week, then i'll have to apply for the Indian one (SO last minute, SO not like me!) My dad recently got a Person of Indian Origin card, so now (among other things) he has visa free entry to India (for up to 6 months) for 15 years, he'll probably upgrade it soon to an Overseas Citizen of India. And then there's me, who has to PAY to go MY own country!!! Now there are some friends of mine who has said that I was raised in Canada & I always say how I was BORN in India & the first 5 years of a childs life is VERY important for development, but yes I have been in Canada longer, & yes this trip will be my first in almost 16 years, but I WAS MADE IN INDIA!!!

Moving on, I am quite excited about NLDC, I am calling it the best conference ever already! This is because of what should be a part of the content (AIESEC 2010), the fact that the MQB is legislating things & that I am leading a Working Group on Exchange Evaluations!!! I am meeting with some of the MC tomorrow to discuss NLDC after signing a JQ & making some phone calls in the day.

It was crazy! I was talking to Tai (MCVPF, AIESEC Canada, MC Responsible for the MQB) about when we're meeting to go over some things, & I said Friday morning/early afternoon was fine, I had an exam that night, but we needed to meet as soon as possible. She said no. I was shocked so I couldn't find the words to respond. She asked when I didn't have an exam, I mentioned the gap in my exam schedule & she said we'll meet then. I was still shocked. It is MY exam, how is SHE going to tell ME when I'LL have MY meetings???!!! Oh the power that is Tai!!! (I was going to post about JUST this, but was scared that she (or someone who may have told her) would see it)

I've been reading A LOT recently, business articles/books, about strategy & quality, to see if there is anything else that the MQB would do this year (there are some upcoming things, but I wanted to make sure I covered everything, i'm a third of the way finished my term!)

So Nida has been commenting asking about my "trip" to Lahore, I also emailed some AIESECers who I haven't met yet but got in touch with & will try & meet up with when i'm in India. The problem? Again something that isn't like me, things are concrete yet! The tentative plan was to go to Lahore for like a day, then cross the Wagha border to attend the wedding. Then i'll go around India, my dad has some business to do, I have some shopping to do (mostly not for me), i'll do some AIESEC work while i'm there, spending as much money as I need to to have internet access. But NOW, a friend of mine will also be in Pakistan, in the Northern part, when I could be there. So i'm trying to go with the flow, but I WANT concrete plans!

That's basically been my life the past week or so, exams & AIESEC, i'm looking forward to finishing exams so that I can focus on the summer, there's a lot to do to prepare for it but i'm trying to remember that it should be fun too.

I can't even do a true basketball update since I only know because I have to read it online rather than getting to watch the games (on television of course, Raptors should be back in the playoffs in a year or so...) There's about 2 months until the NBA Draft, the NFL Draft is coming up, the NHL playoffs are also going on & I think some guys are hitting a ball with a stick (not cricket so it doesn't matter!)

I'm aiming for more balance in life & hoping this summer could really help with that, i'm kind of in between excited about leaving & thinking about the things i'll miss while i'm away, I was supposed to do some more reading & prepare a schedule for these final 2 weeks, but instead I posted this & then went to sleep.

What's going on in the world?

Recently read this article about a "new" axis of evil & the possibility of a World War

If there was a world war, I would probably enlist in the army (or volunteer with the UN or Red Cross)

It also made me think of the following, I wish the whole world could get together & laugh about things like this & then work together for the best things for the people.

THE AXIS PANDEMIC

Declaration of Revocation

I should be studying!

Ready or not, here I come!

I have taken my vaccines (all 5 of them!)

And now, I have my ticket!!!

From May 4 - May 9 I am at NLDC 2006 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

May 9 1700 Toronto

Between this I will be in India for the wedding then I will be going to such places as Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad (others to be confirmed)

May 29 1100 Lahore
May 29 1245 Karachi

August 6 0415 Karachi
August 6 1300 Toronto

I will either do a marketing blitz for the rest of the month OR I will hopefully be somewhere in Europe

I have exams until then so I haven't been updating this blog too much

But randomly...

NBA playoff teams are set, only need to find out who plays who in the first round

I want to get a new phone, the treo 700w with the wifi card & unlocked, it is WAY too expensive now so i'll probably wait a while, but once I get it it'll probably be my phone for a while (i've goen through at least 4 phones in the last 6 years)

I did a bunch of AIESEC work the past while, I still have to do some but also need to study!!!

Oh, there is a new feature on my sidebar, it is called the bitty browser, what it does is provide picture-in-picture while you are at my blog!

Aapke Jaan

The story of two brothers, seperated at birth & reunited in a place they have never been before.

When Kurt travelled thousands of miles away the last thing he expected to find was his brother Puneet. The two reconnected but soon discovered that they were both in love with the same organization (AIESEC)

Watch as the drama unfolds, the work gets done, & they both sing & dance their way into your hearts.

Coming soon to a theatre in Pakistan.

Wikipedia!!!

I LOVE Wikipedia

I was doing some CEED preperation & wanted to know what the currency looked like:

1 Rupee
2 Rupees
5 Rupees
10 Rupees
20 Rupees
50 Rupees
100 Rupees
500 Rupees
1000 Rupees

I have a feeling I will come back & constantly be asking, do you know how many rupees that is???!!!

I also did a search on Wikipedia for the meaning of life (because of a movie I saw) & it had answers

Go Wikipedia!!!

Time!

There has been some talk about tomorrow being 01:02:03 04/05/06 & that not happening again

But it will in the year 3006!

Also, it's pretty cool when it is 01:23:34 or 12:34:56 every day!

Also, when you tell someone you'll meet them around

One Thirty...Two: 1:32:00
Two Thirty...Three: 2:33:00
Three Thirty...Four: 3:34:00
Fourt Thirty...Five: 4:35:00
Five Thirty...Six: 5:36:00
Six Thirty...Seven: 6:37:00
Seven Thirty...Eight: 7:38:00
Either Thirty...Nine: 8:39:00
Nine Thirty...Ten: 9:30:10
Ten Thirty...Eleven: 10:30:11
Eleven Thirty...Twelve: 11:30:12
Twelve Thirty...One: 12:31:00

And when it'll be 02:03:04 05/06/07
And when it'll be 03:04:05 06/07/08
And when it'll be 04:05:06 07/08/09
And when it'll be 05:06:07 08/09/10
And when it'll be 06:07:08 09/10/11
And when it'll be 07:08:09 10/11/12
And when it'll be 08:09:10 11/12/13

Also in this year will be 06:06:06 06/06/06
Then we'll have 07:07:07 07/07/07
Then we'll have 08:08:08 08/08/08
Then we'll have 09:09:09 09/09/09
Then we'll have 10:10:10 10/10/10
Then we'll have 11:11:11 11/11/11
Then we'll have 12:12:12 12/12/12

What's interesting is if you consider date formating being d/m/y instead of m/d/y like I have

For all the people that have thought about this I salute you & hope you also celebrated the leap second last new years!

You will never look at the time/date the same again!!!

End of Semester

So classes for the semester just ended, but i'm not that thrilled & it's not because I still have exams, but because there is so much to do & so little to do it in

I am VERY sentimental right now, I probably won't see all the people I want to see before I leave for the summer & if I don't I won't see some people until this fall or later

Don't get me wrong, I am still super excited about NLDC & the CEED but i'm just thinking about how much i'm going to miss here, exams are right around the corner & then right after the conference i'm gone

It's probably more seeing some people after SO long recently & ending with, see with...??? (next fall?) or not seeing other people in SO long, it could also be because i'm almost done my undergrad

I'll be pretty busy soon to think about any of this & I know i'll feel this way about leaving Pakistan when that day comes

Daylight Savings Time

The timer on the right should adjust automatically for daylight savings time (pretty good timer!)

For those that didn't remember & are in a country which has to, move your clocks one hour forward (spring forward, fall back)

The other blog is finally up & running again, so i'll try not to talk about certain things in this one

I really need to get back to studying

NCAA Final Four ends Monday along with my last assignment for the semester!

I'm reading a lot right now, but NOT school related books!
