AIESEC!!!

I had one of the greatest meetings EVER this week!

It was me & the MC discussing the Membership Quality Board work & Quality in AIESEC in general!!!

There was some great things that came out of it which will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks!

And...

I have changed my itinerary:

May 4 - 9, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada - AIESEC Canada National Leadership Development Conference
May 9 - Toronto to Lahore

May 29 - Lahore to Karachi

August 6 - Karachi to Toronto

(hopefully AIESEC Canada's National Presidents Meeting is after the 6th, but I may not need to be there)

Not as much fun as jumping around to many countries, but more efficient!

I will be in India for most of the time in May & will be on the CEED from June 1 - July 31.

Speaking of the CEED, had a meeting which went well & i'll be getting contacts out of, having another meeting next week, Kurt & I have some plans!!!

Some friends have apparently said this looks like me. I don't know how it does, so please let me know if you think it does & also why if you do.

Also, click here & tell me about myself!

Blog

I keep getting the following error in my other blog: 005 Unable to connect to SFTP server: Auth fail

So yes this will be an AIESEC post, but it's because the other blog is down until I can find a way to fix it

I posted about the CEED prep session & how useful I found it, personally & professionally, I also wrote about my outrage about having "Canadian versions" of the AIESEC dances!

Anyways, I can't sleep, I am SO excited because I have like a FULL day of AIESEC today (it's after midnight), there are 2 meetings scheduled, 1 with the MC, 1 to get contacts & info for my CEED work. I may also do some other things today since i'll be downtown anyways!

I am very excited because of the people i'll get to discuss things with & also what we are discussing. I am very prepared for the meetings but just really anxious about it now

My itinerary may have changed already, it seems (to my dad) that I am wasting a lot of time by going to England/Frankfurt/Dubai & I should just go direct or something better than what I currently have. It is interesting because efficency is also VERY important to me, but I guess seeing a wedding in India is not as important to me right now as traveling & my current itinerary lets me see a bunch of places.

It was funny, I was talking about seeing my cousins if I stopped over in England, but they are about 2 hrs away, so my mom was like why don't you go half way & they go half way? And I said, mom, it's not a bollywood movie (there was some acting on my part to describe what the scene would potentially look like)

I also need to get back to school work, so hopefully Wednesday I can take care of some non-AIESEC things ;)

Becareful!

Not only do you have to watch what you say, you also have to watch when you say it & who you say it to!

I read this article where a man says "Talaq" 3 times in his sleep (which is what you would say in Islamic culture to divorce someone) & is now being held accountable to it because his wife told friends (who gossiped!)

I'd like to know what you think about this, & also, what's with people gossiping so much???

Itinerary

I got my tentative itinerary today:

May 4 - 9, 2006 (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) AIESEC Canada National Leadership Development Conference
May 9, 2006 - Toronto, Canada to London, England
May 10, 2006 - London, England to Dubai, UAE
May 11, 2006 - Dubai, UAE to Delhi, India

May 29, 2006 - Delhi, India to Dubai, UAE
May 30, 2006 - Dubai, UAE to Karachi, Pakistan

August 3, 2006 - Karachi, Pakistan to Dubai, UAE
August 3, 2006 - Dubai, UAE to Frankfurt, Germany
August 3, 2006 - Frankfurt, Germany to Toronto, Canada

August 4 - 6, 2006 - Possibly AIESEC Canada's National Presidents Meeting

I guess it doesn't count that I actually visited a new country if all I did was wait in the airport, I have 10.5 hrs in London before the connecting flight so I can actually go look around or something, I only have a couple of hours in Dubai so I probably won't get to do anything, my time in India will be spent with family, i'll also be at a wedding in India, it's SO inefficient going to Dubai before I go to Pakistan, my time in Pakistan will be spent on a CEED (i'll be in both Karachi & Lahore & hopefully other places), I have 4 hours in Frankfurt so I may be able to do something there as well, the dates of the NPM are not confirmed yet

There could also be a trip somewhere at the end of August, & if I do get to go on that trip, i'll leave very early & go to London, England for a couple of weeks first to spend time with family

I hope my luggage will be with me the whole time!

Anybody need anything???

Another Birthday!

Just another quick message to say HAppy Birthday to Sam.

I am actually not too popular & don't have too many pictures with people (I don't like the way I look in pictures)

& Sam would be someone who would point that out!

I really admire how balanced Sam's life is & am really looking forward to getting to know here better!

Happy Birthday

Just a quick shout out to Kurt to say Happy Birthday!

AIESEC Pakistan, i'll tell you all about how luck you are to have him on your MC when I get there

But for now i'll just say that I still don't think you'll be ready for me & "my partner in crime"

Hope you had a great one, looking forward to the days when school is done & we can focus on changing the world!

Where?

Okay, I know this blog has also mentioned AIESEC (a lot) but it exists to TRY & make me remember that I have a life outside of AIESEC, obviously it isn't going too well

Anyways, I got my dates for the CEED, June 1, 2006 - July 31, 2006.

And I feel like I just lost 2 weeks with the people I was looking forward to meeting, since I could come after May 9, 2006.

Of course I am still VERY happy to be going & wouldn't want to come at a time that wouldn't work for the MC

So I have started thinking about what i'll do in May:

I could stay here, do some AIESEC related marketing, spend time with family/friends

OR

I could go to a different country spend time with family, meet up with random AIESECers

2 images came to mind

TOO MUCH!

I was just talking to Adil & we usually say too much yaar but this time, after saying it, he asked, "btw, what is too much?"

shaving!

It makes me SO sad when people come over & their children are scared of me because I haven't shaven...

I am BUSY (exams/AIESEC) so I don't make the time to shave, I will before my next meeting but even then, i'm not scary!

Yes!!!

In transition

I finished up a bunch of work for AIESEC Canada, so that I can begin preparing for the conference in May, I am VERY excited about the things i'll present at the conference, but also about meeting new people, the new AIESEC Canada team, & the fact that AIESEC is constantly improving, it should be different content & as much as I can find out what that content is, i'd rather be surprised.

I also finished up so early so that I can do more work for AIESEC Pakistan (as in aggressively marketing & building partnerships here, or getting contacts for over there)

And lastly, so I can watch basketball!!!

Oh, & also to study, exams are in April & I want to be well prepared & do very well.

I actually started thinking already about the end of my undergrad & the end of my AIESEC career & how much i'm going to miss when i'm not here.

Today is my dad's birthday, I know he won't read this blog so I won't make a post saying happy birthday with a picture, but I do want to say, that I am very proud to be very similar to him, who is 30 years & some months older than me (I won't go into detail)

This is also St. Patricks weekend (which has so turned into an excuse to drink, but if people want to get together & have fun, then i'm all for it!)

That's it really, same old, school, AIESEC, sports, reflecting...

*EDIT: I usually don't edit my posts, but I forgot to mention, my new countdown is for NLDC 2006 which I mentioned above, & about a week later I will be off to Pakistan, hopefully you guys checked out my other blog!

Black.White

There is this new reality show where a white family & a black family get their skin colour changed (by makeup) & see the differences.

This isn't a new concept, it was done a long time ago by John Howard Griffin in the 1960's (a time when there was a big difference), & was written in his book, Black Like Me (it was also made into a movie in 1964)

I would recommend getting the book if you are interested in this topic:

VISA

I need to get a visa to go to Pakistan, & there has been some talk of me visiting England/India before/after, I don't think I can given that I am not in Pakistan for too long & would like to get as much work done as possible, but my dad really wants me to have a visa for India as well.

I downloaded the application & I find something very wrong with having to apply to & pay for a visit to the country I was born in.

So, i'm thinking of applying for Dual Citizenship instead.

I would also like to one day have citizenship in the USA & i'm pretty sure it would be allowed to have all 3 at once

Oh, I usually say my lame joke of already having a visa credit card when I talk about this, but i'll skip it this time

Quick Update

DUKE WAS SELECTED #1 OVER ALL IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT!!!

This isn't all good news since it comes with a target on their back, Good Luck Duke!

I have you all the way in my bracket & my heart, make me proud!!!

In other news, Frist was chosen in the first straw poll as GOP candidate for the 2008 election. Where's Giuliani???

I'm swamped with school (1 exam & assignment due before exams, 5 finals) this week is also Q4 submissions deadline! (March 15, 2006), i'll need a new countdown! I've already gotten to work for AIESEC Pakistan, I talked to Kurt & we are being very strategic, I contacted the Canada-Pakistan Business Council (will meet with them in a couple of weeks) we will contact the different Pakistan clubs on campuses & i'm working on helping the LCs!

Support

WOW.

The one thing I can say about AIESEC Pakistan is that they do the right things!

I have gotten so much support ever since finding out I am a CEEDer there for this summer

AIESEC Carleton's blog

AIESEC Karachi's blog

And here is AIESEC Lahore's blog

I want to be there now! I know however long i'll be there it won't be long enough!

Blog

If you didn't notice from the lack of updates since last week

This blog is under hibernation due to exam preperation & AIESEC work (& BASKETBALL!!!)

I did update the other blog a little & will post more frequently soon (not that anyone checks ;)

Prove that you are you!

I have been asked to prove that I am Puneet Duggal, & that I live at the address which I claim to live at.

Forunately, I have so many things that can prove it, including previous tax assessment, university documents, passport, drivers license & others

I just found it hard to believe that I had to prove such a thing & also what it takes to prove it.

This just shows you that there is a point of keeping things for your records!

Anyways, click here so you can tell me what words describe me best

Exam Schedule!!!

So, if my school schedules couldn't get worse (weekend exams, no reading because of exams)

I got my exam schedule, 4 exams in 4 days, and then some days off before another 1.

So, i'm not going out in until they finish (which OF COURSE, is the VERY LAST exam written at York this semester!)
