Beta

So I am a beta tester for both windows live mail & windows live messenger

They are both really good & just confirms how much I like Microsoft, for, among other things, constantly improving

My hobby of computers/technology is SO expensive!

In finance class this week a student who couldn't figure out how to use his calculator so he asked the prof for help & the prof answered with that he could see him at the break but because the prof is working overtime it's going to cost the student something, chocolate or hot chocolate, the prof was obviously joking, but at the end of the break the student comes back with a hot chocolate for the prof!!!

The prof said, you have to be fucking kidding me, most of the class laughs, and the prof said how he was only joking, but thanks him. Then the prof said how okay class now you know how to get a good grade in this class. And I think of time value of money & think that we probably have to get him something better next time.

I was thinking, how many situations get misunderstood & are actually meant to be a joke?

My dad randomly went to Florida today, it is VERY different at home without him here, the farthest i'll go anytime soon is Hamilton (like 4 months away)

Today was also Bush's State of the Union Address, people will criticize it enough elsewhere, but I do hope this next year in his presidency has more constructive discussions

The Oscars nominations are out, it may be good this year since Jon Stewart is hosting, I personally think Brokeback Mountain is getting a free ride being a movie which has a plot based on a topic not usually covered in the mainstream. I haven't seen it but from the reviews have heard that it is boring more than anything else.

In basketball, the Toronto Raptors did what should have been done a while ago, which is fired their General Manager, he made 1 decision that is relatively positive, but otherwise VERY bad decisions. But at the same time I feel bad since it is such a public firing, & losing your job is never good. Being General Manager of a basketball team that I like would be my dream job!

Coming up in February is the NBA All Star week! Next years All Star game is in Las Vegas (the first time it will be held outside of a place with a bball team) the NBA has done a really good job going more international

Also in February is the Olympics. Although i'm a bigger fan of the summer Olympics, it is still pretty exciting to see how the different countries do.

That's all for now, more random stuff to come!

Blogging

So I may be blogging a little more then usual this week because I have a relatively easy week, but after this week I have nothing to look forward to until March, i'm not even sure if i'll be going out on weekends until then.

I'm working on putting up more pictures on this blog

This past weekend was OQ (which i'll write about in the other blog) & there's a whole bunch of different AIESEC work i'm doing

KAROLINA IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!

There is this online directory which connects people & I don't know what to say about it. A bunch of crazy friends of mine made this group about me & now it is SO random & has people who I haven't even met in person as members.

Basketball is crazy! Trades, high scoring, NCAA losses, fantasy!

Estrat is unforunately finished. I definately enjoyed the experiance though, i'll probably look into similar things soon.

I am really enjoying my Finance & Law classes, but not enjoying the others too much (they are better then courses I didn't want to take but had to from previous years)

I continue towards more balance in my life this week, should be interesting. I'm hoping to know by next month what i'll be doing this summer! (my new passport should be in soon, i'm hoping to use it at least once!!!)

I'll end this with 2 things:

1) the people who read this should also have blogs!
2) "I don't want to read your blog, just tell me how your day was!!!"

This Morning!!!

So, i'm in the library, I have been here since 8:45am & I do not have class until 4:00pm.

It is so incredible. It was SO silent when I got here. People were actually here to study, not to pass time between classes, not to socialize.

There were still those people who find it necessary to move the furniture so that they can sleep (which is VERY selfish since they take up 2 seats) but otherwise it is a great time to do some AIESEC work & to study!

Today is also election day in Canada. It seems like we will have a Conservative Minority goverment (I would prefer a Liberal Minority) but lets see what happens.

Anyways, the library has changed now, & people are VERY rude with there talking so i'm going to do some work before things get worse!

second semester!!!

Second semester has to be the WORST THING EVER!!!

I haven't gone out ALL MONTH because I have 2 exams this week

Then i'm in Kingston for OQ!!! (1 of the 2 good things all semester)

Then I come back & have just classes & Estrat

Then I have an assignment & 2 exams!

Then it's reading week, but I have an exam that WEEKEND!

And another exam the following weekend!!!

Then I have another exam

Then (finally) I have a week with JUST classes (it is now March!!!)

And then, the same week March Madness (NCAA Basketball) begins, I have an exam & it's Q4!

Then I get 2 weeks off

& Finally an assignment due just before finals!

Sorry, but I really felt like complaining. It is the last week of January & I am looking forward to March!!!

Worst Semester EVER!!!

Here are some random links (I usually don't believe in such stuff but these were pretty accurate for me)

What age do I act???

Those of you who know me may have something to say about this, but my reply to you is, respect your elders!!!

You Are 29 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

Women are like

...the stock market
They're irrational and can bankrupt you if you're not careful.

...computers
They take too long to warm up and a better model always comes along once you've already got one.

...Saran Wrap
Useful but clingy.

...horses
Fun to pet and ride but a pain to feed and clean up after.

...parking meters
If you don't feed them with enough money you face serious consequences.

...fax machines
Useful for one very specific purpose but otherwise just high-maintenance paperweights.

...political campaign contributors
If you let them talk about themselves long enough you wind up in bed with them.

...refrigerators
They're always cold and never seem to have a beer when you need one.

...blue jeans
They look good for a while but eventually they fade and have to be replaced.

...country western songs
They're annoying, they all sound alike, but if you really listen to them you'll get depressed and drink a lot.

(this will be updated when I find more)

Calculators!

I got SO excited in class today

A bunch of us have 2 calculators (including myself), one financial & one other (scientific, graphical, etc)

So I thought, why not start a club on campus where you HAVE to have multiple calculators!

perspective

If I were to pass away today...

would you know?

would it be because you didn't see me in class?

because I didn't send you an email?

i didn't call?

i didn't blog?

would you come to my funeral?

would my family/friends even know the type of funeral I would want?

would I be remembered for something I said or did? or something I didn't say or didn't do?

would my life be looked on as one that was lived to it's fullest, or someone who was taken very early?

would it make a difference in your life?

for a day? a week? longer?

would you smile thinking about the times we've had or cry thinking about the fact that i'm gone?

do you even know me?

my thoughts?

my beliefs?

my values?

why do you read my blog?

what difference does it make to you?

What a week!!!

I'm just glad it's over!

Starting school this semester was exciting since I like my courses, but I find out that I have 2 exams 3 weeks later!

Then I decide to do SO much work in AIESEC because certain changes are VERY important to me & have to be done now!

But it is under control right now.

I missed this AIESEC social which I really wanted to go to, but have been studying for those exams & can hopefully go to OQ (same week of the exams, have to leave early to go write one of them)

Next week is just classes & then the week after is those exams. On top of that there is E-strat which is going well & i'm SO excited because Adil & Sheryl are back!!!

I finally get to blog again! (I also updated the other blog)

Pictures to be uploaded soon...

The Year of Poland!

So I go to Law class & find out that one of my most favourite professors from last year is teaching part 2 of the class as well (he is Polish)

This month is also the return of Poland (you'll see!)

This summer may mean traveling there (hopefully!)

I almost ordered a Polish hotdog before the Raptors game!

totally random

Rita Pang just informed me that she saw a filipino version of me today. So i'm sitting here, snacking on some peanuts & thinking about how many people there are in this world & yet how similar we are.

Anyways, so I am headed downtown this Friday (so if you think you see me it may actually be me) & i'm thinking about how many deadlines I have.

I want to go to this Ontario & Quebec conference but have an exam the night before & the Sunday of. That's right. I start school & 3 weeks later I have a midterm!!! So the plan is to study now. So not going out weekends & studying, going to the conference (with the books) & leaving early to go write the exam.

One of the deadlines I have is that of E-strat, which is still SO much fun!

Oh, so i'm doing this online basketball thing with my younger cousins (one of which is 16, the other is 13) & i'm taunting them because i'm winning. Now you may think this is mean since I am picking on little kids, but kids these days have NO respect for their elders.

I'm hoping to finalize summer plans soon. Lets just say i'm getting my passport renewed. I'm hoping to update about NC2006 this weekend.

I'm really looking forward to having time to watch sports soon. There will be the Olympics, the NBA All-Star weekend, March Madness & the World Cup

Anyways, long but exciting week left!

Raptors???!!!

So I come back from the conference... (AIESEC Canada National Congress 2006, I wasn't able to update live from it but will write about it soon on my AIESEC blog)

and I check my email & get a reminder about the Raptor tickets I have for Friday (day after I got back)

So I am very tired, but decide to finish a lot of my work before going.

The game was AMAZING!!!

Not only did they win (Raptors vs. Rocket, 112 - 92, mostly because Yao Ming was injured & Juan Howard was thrown out) but we found parking downtown Toronto for $6 (close to the Hummingbird Centre) we got noise makers (thunder sticks), the section beside us got pizza during the game, everyone got pizza after the game (because Raptors got over 100 points), the person infront of me won tickets to the next game, my friend got a t-shirt.

The raptors have now won the last 5 in a row & may actually win more than 20 games this season. We are still like 3rd worst team but for 1 night it was just fine.

SO much excitement & otherwise I didn't see these same friends from high school for a couple of months.

I start classes on Monday & am actually looking forward to that since I have law, intermediate financial accounting, finance, management information systems & intermediate macro economics. 1.5 semesters & i'm finished my undergrad!!! Next year is mostly tax & auditing which should be fun! I'm really looking forward to seeing my friends/family so i'll probably make some calls or send some emails.
